It is the first time in history that a Danish contemporary Artist Association is exhibiting in Ukraine and at the currently most renowned National Gallery of Lviv.
The title of the exhibition ‘Between us / Imellem os / Поміж нами’, contemplates the idea of human transition between space and place in time. Questioning what values are core to our human polarisation and unification? Are we singular, standing alone or is our existence of a
more codependant nature? Is it still even relevant to reason between an 'us' and a 'them'?
With this exhibition the Art Association ‘Dansk Folkekunst’ aspires to investigate the current social construction of contemporary Man, in relation to globalisation. On the evening of the exhibition opening, the Danish Embassy of Ukraine will grant the exhibition as open, followed by
performances as well as other audience and artist co-immersive events.
On Saturday the 2nd of September 2017, 2 PM, there will be an artist talk. The artists will present their work and open up to a public dialog, debating their art pieces.

Newly established artists association showing their first exhibition ’Transfer’ in Hungary
May 6 – June 5, 2016, at The Eurohíd Foundation and The Hungarian National Museum - Esztergom Castle Museum Rondella Gallery.
Dansk Folkekunst / Danish Folk Art is a newly established artists association, which took its first tentative steps in the spring of 2014. In the spring of 2015, the association of artists wrote its Manifesto (attached).
Dansk Folkekunst is an association of approximately 35 artists from Denmark and abroad, 33 of which are involved with the Danish Folk Art’s first exhibit ’Transfer’.
The title of the exhibition 'Transfer' refers to the movement that is so characteristic of our time. Contemporary man travels, moves and communicates across countries and time zones. The desire of Danish Folk Art is to move, to be able to move and to also consider itself as a movement. The intention of the artists association is to spread greater awareness of the national contemporary art on the international art scene.
The exhibition space, Rondella Gallery at The Eurohíd Foundation and The Hungarian National Museum - Esztergom Castle Museum, is a 1000 year old castle, which is government owned, but run by volunteers. 17 of the participating artists are traveling to Hungary in connection with the opening, both in relation to their own installation of works, but also to meet with the local population at the location. The artist Simone Aaberg Kærn has even created an artvideo in co-production with the Hungarian director Marcell Ivanyi.
At the opening of the exhibition there will be a representative of the Danish Embassy in Hungary, speeches, music, workshops and performances. Saturday, June 7 there will be Artist Talks and guided tours of the exhibition.
The exhibition is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.

Denmark’s first artists association, The Free Exhibition, was established in 1891. Now with Danish Folk Art, Denmark has a new and energetic artists association on the list, making a total of 15 artists associations.
Danish Folk Art is a dynamic artists association, which is self-generating and partly self- curating. The limits for what it will achieve are open and Danish Folk Art will meet the other countries that it visits and exhibits in with great respect and empathy, also in relation to the culture of those countries. '
Danish Folk Art has the goal of holding at least one annual exhibition entirely abroad. In the fall, Danish Folk Art will publish a catalogue for the exhibition at a reception that will take place in Denmark, where Danish Folk Art will also regularly hold lectures, workshops and the like.
